Our newsletter is emailed to members before each meeting to notify members of the scheduled speakers, upcoming orchid shows and other society activities.


Meeting Program for 2025

We are moving! After the summer break the society meetings will be in a new location. Stay in touch for updates.

Meetings are held in the basement hall of St. Joseph's Church at the corner of Courtland and Madison in Kitchener on the fourth Monday (unless pre-empted, see the program dates below).

Meetings begin promptly at 7:00pm; arrive from 6:30pm for social time and sales. Free parking is at the rear of the school; the entrances are off Madison or Cedar. Guests are welcome.

Meeting dates are listed below with the programme, usually a guest speaker or slide show.

January 27 Potting Workshop: Bring a Plant to Repot.
February 24 AOS video "He came from the land of down under" by Tom Mirenda on orchids of Australia.
March 24 AOS Video on Orchid Culture
April 28 Cancelled due to federal election
May 26 Martina Reika will speak on growing in terrariums. As a certified floral industry expert, Martina’s passion for plant care, teaching others, and personal wellness has come together to create Connecting with Roots. Based in Kitchener where she works, lives, and has built connections for 20+ years in the Plant Nursery and Floral Design community, she can transform any occasion or space into a natural work of art. June 23 Joe Diciommo is our guest. Summer break - see you again in September.
September 15 Note the early date. Also we are in a new location. Dan Doucette talks on his travels. Social time. Preparation for our show. Come and volunteer for the show.
October 27 Terry Kennedy is presenting.

November 24 Our Christmas party, games (to join bring small, wrapped gift to $10), silent auction and pot luck dinner. Please bring your own dishes, cutlery and glassware. A punch, coffee and tea will be provided. You are welcome to bring wine if you wish. Doors Open at 6:30 p.m. Eat at 7 p.m.
December No meeting.
